Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
You will be picked up by our company driver guide from either your hotel or Kigali International Airport for a transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Driving to Butare, Rwanda; enjoy the beautiful scenery views of the country side, and also have an en route stopover at the Murambi Genocide Memorial Site, lunch in Butare town before proceeding with your drive to your hotel/ lodge. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Forest Lodge (Luxury), Nyungwe Top View Lodge (Midrange) and Gisakura Guest House Lodge (Budget)
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Forest Canopy Walk
Rise early, have breakfast and assemble at the Nyungwe Forest Park offices for pre- tracking briefing on the code of conduct when tracking for chimpanzees. With all the necessary gear, embark on this expedition, and on locating them, expect an hour with them, observing and taking photographs. Later, have lunch; taking in the various sights and sounds of the dense forest. In the afternoon, proceed with a canopy forest walk through the dense woods; You will have a chance of viewing the entire Nyungwe Forest and its habitats from above while they watch you swing in the air; quite interesting though only for the strong hearted. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Departure
Have breakfast at leisure and get ready for your drive back to Kigali for drop off at a hotel / airport for departure flight.
