Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will be received and welcomed by our company representative at Kigali International airport who will later transfer you to Volcanoes National Park. En route, you will have a brief Kigali City Tour to the Gisozi Genocide Memorial site, Kdhant House, Local shops and market centers before proceeding with your drive to Musanze province – the home base for Volcanoes National Park. Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Iby’wacu Cultural Visit
Upon rising, enjoy breakfast and report at the Kinigi park offices and engage in a morning briefing on the gorilla trekking code of conduct provided by the Park Warden. After this, embark on your gorilla trekking expedition; once you locate the amazing creatures, enjoy an hour with them before retrieving the starting point, to meet your guide for your return to the lodge. Have lunch and later take a visit to the Iby’wacu Cultural Village for Cultural entertainment and enrichment. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 3: Golden Monkeys Tracking and Burera &Ruhondo Twin Lakes
Upon waking up, enjoy your morning coffee and retrieve the kinigi park offices for pre-tracking briefing on the code of conduct when tracking for the shy and playful golden monkeys. Later embark on your amazing adventure, return midmorning from your hike, have lunch, relax and later in the evening, take a stride to the beautiful twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Day 4: Dian Fossey Hike and Departures
Rise early, enjoy your breakfast and assemble at the park offices for registration and briefing on this Hike. It’s quite a tough hike to the Karisimbi Research Center suitable for those with good physical and health conditions. Following this hike, have lunch and hit the road for your return trip to Kigali for drop off at either a hotel or airport.
